The World Gold Council is a London, United Kingdom-based organization that was founded in 1987 which aims to  build awareness of the importance of gold and help to promote its usage in industry and as an investment. Technically, the World Gold Council represents the global gold mining sector, and its members and its board include most of the world’s largest gold mining companies. The World Gold Council’s website, Gold.org, provides an abundance of data, information, and news about gold and the gold industry, such as its quarterly and annual Gold Demand Trends, and its data and reports on the central bank gold market.

The London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) is a London, England-based international trade organization founded in 1987 at the behest of the Bank of England to represent the global over-the-counter (OTC) bullion market and its participants. While the most powerful members of the LBMA are the bullion banks (those investment banks involved in the London bullion market), the LBMA’s members also include refiners, wholesalers and other gold market entities. Reddit Silver Community: r/Wallstreetsilver

The famous Reddit silver community r/Wallstreetsilver has 259,000 members and is in the top 1% of communities on Reddit. This community rose to prominence in early 2021 on the back of the success of r/Wallstreetbets, and contributed  to rising silver prices as new investors clamored to purchase silver in hope of riding a coming “Silver Squeeze” in which big banks would be forced to buy back their silver short positions while sending the silver price to previously unthinkable heights. Though the Silver Squeeze hasn’t happened (yet), r/Wallstreetsilver is still a vibrant community that is filled with investors who love silver and are quite optimistic on its prospects. The moderators who were initially in control of r/Wallstreetsilver were pushed out in mid 2023 and replaced by a rival group of moderators.

Reddit Silver Community: r/Silverbugs

The thriving Reddit silver community r/Silverbugs has 124,000 members and is in the top 1% of communities on Reddit. Though not quite as active as the r/Wallstreetsilver community, it still holds its own in the world of silver investing. r/Silverbugs brands itself as a forum for physical silver stackers, and investing in “paper” silver (ETFs, trusts, mining stocks, etc.) is strongly discouraged. Per the rules of the forum, posts on silver stocks, silver tokens, etc. are prohibited. Only discussion of physical silver is allowed. Members commonly show off their physical silver collections to the applause of fellow members.

The Reddit gold community r/Gold has 99,000 members and is in the top 2% of communities on Reddit. Common topics in this community include gold investing, numismatics, jewelry, and collectibles.
