Silver Coins, Rounds & Wafers
Silver coins are a great way to hold physical silver and are an extremely popular investment across the precious metals asset class. To accommodate this demand, BullionStar stocks an extensive range of investment grade silver coins produced by the world’s most prestigious and best-known mints and refineries including Australia’s Perth Mint, the Royal Canadian Mint, Britain’s Royal Mint, the Austrian Mint, and the famous US Mint.
The most popular investment grade silver coins sold by BullionStar are exempt from Singapore’s Goods and Services Tax (GST), which means when you buy silver coins from BullionStar, you do not pay any GST. GST exemptions apply to:
- The US Mint American Silver Eagle
- RCM Silver Maple Leaf and some RCM Canadian Wildlife series silver coins
- Perth Mint Silver Kangaroo, Silver Lunar, Silver Koala and Silver Kookaburra
- The Austrian Mint Silver Philharmonic
- Royal Mint Silver Britannia and the 2 oz and 10 oz Silver Queen's Beast silver coins
- The Chinese Mint Silver Panda coin
- The Mexican Silver Libertad coin
Investment grade silver bullion coins have a silver purity ranging from 0.999 to 0.9999, so they are essentially pure silver. Silver bullion coins are fabricated in a number of weight denominations with the most common weight being the 1 troy oz silver coin. The Chinese Silver panda coin is an exception as since 2013 it has been produced as a 30 gram coin (approximately 0.965 troy ounces). BullionStar’s best-selling silver coins include Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins and Australian Silver Koala coins.
Some silver coins are produced in a wide range of weights, for example, the Perth Mint’s Silver Lunar is available in weights ranging from 1 kg, 10 ozs, 5 ozs to 2 ozs, while the Silver Koala and Silver Kookaburra are available as 1 kg and 10 oz silver coins. The Royal Mint’s Queens Beasts series of silver coins is produced in 2 oz and 10 oz weight denominations.
In general, premiums on large silver coins will lower than those on smaller silver coins, however, premiums on the popular 1 oz silver coins are generally low due to the high liquidity of the 1 oz coin size and the widespread demand for these coins.
Silver coins produced by the national mints such as the US Mint, Royal Canadian Mint and Royal Mint are legal tender in their country of issue. BullionStar also stocks a wide range of silver rounds, including an own brand BullioStar 1 oz silver round featuring iconic imagery from Singapore. Silver rounds are also exempt from Singapore’s Goods and Services (GST) tax.

- Country: Singapore
The 1 oz BullionStar Singapore Merlion silver bullion round commemorates two of Singapore’s most important symbols: the Merlion and the orchid flower.
The Merlion is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. In Singapore, the Merlion has been turned into a water-spraying statue landmark that overlooks Marina Bay.

- Purity: .9999
- Country: Canada
3/4 oz Silver Lynx minted by Royal Canadian Mint.
