Work Arrangement: 5-day work week, Monday to Friday

We want someone who already believes what we believe about gold, silver and money, and who can write about it that strangers on the internet stop scrolling, read to the end, and change their mind. You will be the voice of BullionStar to the outside world: on our own site, on X, on Reddit, in the forums where people argue about this stuff. Not a brand voice, your voice, with our reach behind it. This is not a social media job. It is a thinking and writing job that happens to be published on social media.

Who are BullionStar?

BullionStar is Singapore's leading precious metals dealer. We sell, buy back, store, and deliver physical gold, silver, and platinum to customers worldwide, from first-time buyers to institutional investors. We operate a full-service showroom in Singapore, a comprehensive e-commerce platform, and vault storage facilities across multiple jurisdictions.

We are independently owned, founder-led, and intentionally lean. There are no layers of corporate bureaucracy here. Decisions are made quickly, everyone is close to the customer, and every person in the business has a direct impact on what we deliver. We've built our reputation on trust, transparency, and doing things properly. We're looking for people who are drawn to that kind of environment, people who want ownership, not job titles, and who find energy in building something rather than maintaining something.

What you will actually do

  • Write - Long pieces for bullionstar.com, short pieces for X, comment-length pieces for Reddit and the forums. Be able to churn through volume.
  • Have a view and defend it - On central bank buying, on the LBMA, on paper claims versus allocated metal, on inflation, on why the price does what it does. We are not looking for balanced coverage. We are looking for a case, made honestly.
  • Do the primary research - Read the COMEX and LBMA data, the central bank disclosures, the refinery flows, the customs numbers. Find the story in the source, not in someone else's summary of the source. If your piece could have been written from a Reuters headline, it should not have been written.
  • Show up in the places our customers already are - Reddit is where a large share of the "where should I buy gold in Singapore" conversation happens, including the conversation the AI assistants read before they answer. Forums, X, comment sections, you engage as a person who knows the subject, under our banner, not as a brand account posting on schedule.
  • Bring receipts - Strong opinions and sourced facts. Every number you publish should survive someone hostile checking it. Passion and rigour are not in tension here; the whole point is that we are the ones who did the work.
  • Own the calendar and the follow-through - What gets published, when, where, and what happened after. You will have analytics support and you will be expected to care about what lands.

Who you are

Non-negotiable:

  • You are already a gold or silver bug, you hold metal, and you have held opinions about it for years. You did not discover this in a job ad. If we ask you what you think about the PBoC's real holdings, or why unallocated gold is a claim and not metal, or whether the COMEX default thesis has aged well, you have something to say and you have considered it before.
  • A great writer and communicator. Clear, direct, with rhythm and personality. You can make a balance-sheet argument readable, and you can compress it into 280 characters without losing it.
  • Comfortable being a named person with a public position. Not anonymous or hedged.
  • You are honest, including when it costs us. If the data does not support the bullish read that week, you say so. Our credibility is the only asset this role has.
  • Native-level written English.

Strongly desirable:

  • Ideally based in Singapore. We want your passion for precious metals to rub off on everyone else working here.
  • A body of published work we can read right now, a Substack, a blog, an X account sharing your opinions, a forum post record, a YouTube channel, anything.
  • Be open to using AI to help you draft but not be over reliant on it for writing genuine, and authentic pieces.
  • Comfort with charts and data — you can pull a series, build the chart, and explain it.

Who you are not

  • You are not a social media manager. No content calendars full of engagement bait, no "5 tips" carousels, no growth hacks. If your instinct is to run a poll to boost reach, this is the wrong role.
  • You do not need to have been social media "trained." We are not looking for platform certifications or agency polish. We are looking for someone with something to say.
  • You are not a neutral journalist. We want to share our position on the world and speak the truth.
  • You are not a copywriter waiting for a brief. Nobody here will hand you talking points to reword. You bring the argument; we give you the loudspeaker.
  • You will not be handed a brand voice guide. Authenticity is the product. If we wanted someone to sound like us, we would not need someone new.
