The United States Mint introduced the 1 oz American Gold Eagle in 1986 and stellar investor demand led to over 23 million of them being minted in total.

American Gold Eagles of all sizes are made from a wear-resistant alloy known as crown gold, which consists of 91.67% gold, 3% silver, and 5.33% copper.

Like the 1 oz version, the obverse side of the 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle features Lady Liberty holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand, while the coin’s reverse side features a bald eagle.

The 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle bullion coin is legal tender in the United States and has a US$5 face value.
